Project Description
The Woolgate project, formerly known as Woolgate Exchange, is a complete refurbishment of the existing building to create 320,000 sq ft of office space. The works will see façade improvements, provision of additional space through additional floors and the creation of a 1,500 sq ft rooftop pavilion offering panoramic views of St. Paul’s Cathedral and the City. The building will also feature over 20,000 sq ft of external terrace amenity on each level on each elevation of the building to encourage urban greening and further enhance the commercial tenant’s state-of-the-art headquarters.
The project aims to become an exemplar for retrofit in the City particularly in its sustainability targets. Woolgate will see the preservation of 98% of the existing structure as part of its aim to have net-zero carbon emissions during construction and operation, thanks to an ambitious reuse and retention strategy. The commercial building will also be all-electric with no fossil fuel or gas boiler on site and 100% green power purchase agreements (PPA) in place.
Real PM’s Role
Monthly project monitoring for the cut and carve that is being constructed by Mace alongside Project management and Employer’s Agent services throughout, including the CAT A fit-out.
