Botanic place

Project Description

Botanic Place in Cambridge city centre proposes a campus comprising two new office buildings which have been intentionally designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality HQ office space from national and international businesses in Cambridge’s thriving innovation and technology ecosystem.

Situated next to Cambridge’s Botanic Garden’s the landscaping has been designed to seamlessly continue the flow of the Gardens and create a campus that not only benefits the commercial tenants but the public as a whole with the creation of over 2,000sqm of publicly accessible green space. The Listed Flying Pig public house is also being sensitively refurbished with a commitment to continuing its heritage as a free house. Meanwhile, the commercial buildings also sees 15,000 sq ft London-grade internal amenities, including event and meeting spaces, food and beverage areas, and wellness facilities.

Shortlisted for a 2024 World Architecture Festival Award Botanic Place will create approximately 3,000 jobs within Cambridge’s thriving knowledge-led economy. Furthermore, over 200 of these jobs are dedicated to local jobs through the development of cafes, restaurants, and a market hall.

The development aims to be the first new-build BREEAM “Outstanding” rated office building in Cambridge city centre. To align with Cambridge’s vision to become net-zero by 2030 the development is also targeting WELL Platinum and WiredScore Platinum certifications. Moreover, the plans have significantly reduced the site’s original car park to create over 1,500 cycle parking spaces to better promote active and sustainable travel.
